GIANT SAWFISH CAUGHTBUXTON, — A giant sawfish, one of the largest ever taken in Dare coast waters, was hauled ashore near the lighthouse here on Cape Hatter as Saturday. The big fish, estimated to weigh more than 1,000 pounds was caught in the net of Capt. Joe Jennette who was hauling for bluefish when the giant species was landed. The peculiar feature of a saw fish is its great saw-like bill which extends from a *few inches to several feet from its body. Jen-nett’s fish measured 15 feet from tip to tip. It’s saw was four feet long.
