Little Chute ’9’wins tourneyLITTLE CHUTE — Limiting opponents to two runs in three games, the Little Chute Saints won the champion* ship of the Hilbert Little League Tournament held here over the weekend.In the championship tilt, Little Chute blanked Hilbert, 13-0 behind the pitching of Keith Mulry. Leading up to the finals, the Saints downed Brillion, 10-0 and Sherwood, 13-2. Muiry also hurled the win over Brillion and Tom DeBruin was the winner against Sherwood.DeBruin was named most valuable player in the tournament with a .636 batting average and Mulry received the most valuable pitcher award.The Saints were champions of the Tri-County League with a 14-1 record. Team coaches were Lee Vander Sanden and Joe Lamers and members of the team included Mulry, DeBruin, Randy Wenham, Francis Schumacher, Paul Vanderioop, Brad Hietpas, Dave Jansen, Todd Welhouse, Darrell Kringle, Jeff Jessogne, Greg Hermsen, Tom Mulry, Brian Berken, Brad Helms, Mike Tiedt, Ken Gerrits, Gary DeBruin and Mark Hartjes. Kim Mulry was bat girl.
