Tenney, defending woman titliat, accounted for two of them.Scoring 72 points for a 494 total in the single national event, she bettered her own record of 492 set last year. Her other new mark was a 332 total on 48 hits from 60 yards out. The old record was 320.Mrs. Beatrice S. Hodden, San Pedro, Calif., who was national champion in 1928, broke the single Columbia record by making 72 hits for 652. The old record, 550, was set by Mrs. Olive Beaco Layer, Clarendon Hills, III., in 1936, and equalled by Miss Tenney last year.
