CARROLL PLAYGROUND BOYS WIN i ANNUAL TRACK TOURNAMENTStevenson Girls Rank Highest On SaturdayIn the most closely-contested track meet in the history of the playgrounds—a record of fourteen years —Carroll playground boys took first place, and Stevenson playground girls, thus carrying back to their respective grounds the coveted shields of athletic championship. The Carroll girls put up a valorous fight to nose outthe winning Stevenson athletes, and lost with a small margin. The Carroll boys held to their lead against strong opposition and probably this made their victory the sweeter. Andersen boys in the junior and intermediate classes alone, ran up thirty-nine points, a great come-back over the showing of last year. Stevenson, too, proved a dark horse, coming inwith 42 points as against last year’seight. Barrie and Field gave their competitors a fine run for the money.While the general standard of all the contestants was above the average, some bright particular stars stood out in some events. These were: Carroll — William Schultz, Ralph Clapp; Stevenson — John Gill, Dick Brunton, Dorothy Klupping; F5eld—Ernest Badenoch; Betty Har-ker; Andersen—D. Sholz, R. Keyes; Barrie—J. Hirsch and R.
