McLeod, formerly manager of the Aberdeen Brewery, recently purchased a patent right for a newly invented motorcycle and is now engaged in the manufacture of the machine in Portland. The company is called the McLeod Manufacturing company. The concern is located on Johnson and Thirteenth streets. Robert Bailey was the inventor of the machine and is now the chief mechanic in the factory. The new machine is called the Bailey Flyer. The motorcycle has been given a thorough trial, having covered 23,000 miles. Immediately after this long endurance test the Bailey Flyer was taken apart and every part of its machinery carefully surveyed. Nothing was found to have suffered undue wear. Already the output of the factory has been found insufficient to meet the demands for machines. The Bailey Flyer is constructed so that its parts may easily be taken apart and quickly substituted, should any accident occur on the road. In this respect the machine is said to be the best on the market.
