VISITORS WIN TWO GAMESFrom Glasworkers as Local Park.Reserves Lose Two at Orleans.Comets Beat Washinoton.Local baseball enthusiasm received au awful jolt' Sunday when two of the three team's representing: the Southern Indiana Works went down in defeat in games at the local park and at Orleans; However, the Gurnets, the junior team of the trio, came home with banners fl.v ing. having defeated their Washington opponents in a game played at the shops city.Numerous errors by the local team gave the West Baden Sprudels an easy victory in Sunday's game at the Southside park by a score of 12 te 4.She game started off in nice form and was “looking good’1 to the local fans until the sixth inning when the colored visitors got a line on Taylor’s “spits” aud hammered out five singles which, with the aid of a number fielding errors and bum throwsi netted the Sprudels six runs and put an everlasting crimp in the home team’s hope of winning.Taylor, who pitched for the locals, hit two batsman, gave one base on balls and was touched up for a total of twelve hits. He struck out seven of the dusky visitors, but received poor support.The S. I. G. W’s. succeeded in getting eight hits of Dismukes, who gave two bases on balls. The Sprudels support was almost perfect.The attendance was the largest of the season.The game by innings was as follows:FIRST INNING.J. Taylor singled over second and took the second sack on a bad throw by Gafney in an attempt to catch him i^tween the bases. Lewis sacrificed* Baylor to Gafney.
