July 17.1985Red All Stars win T-ball tourneyLasl week eight learns participated In a T-3all Tournament sponsrred by F.T.P.B!-, the local Friendswood baseball organization for children from ages 5-9.In addition to the Friendswood Blue and Red All Star teams, participants included two all star teams from both North Houston and South Houston, as well as teams from Deer Park anil Dickinson. The tournament was double elimination and a total of 15 games were played.In the opening round of play, Friendswood Blue All Stars lest an exciting game 13-12 to Ihc South Hcustco Mustangs.The Friendswood Blue team rebounded in the next two games with victories over North Houston Blue, 24-14. and Deer Park,21-14.These games featured strong Infield clay fromRobAndrew Dietrich, Schultz. Adam Joe Holly. Andrew Bond. Jamone Williams and Alan Muzny. In addition, outfielders Jason Pust-Jovsky. Brandon Asbeck, Jeremy Jctmsor., Kevin Faulkner. David Hefner, John Janese and Jason Kubbtns were very Instrumental in the victories.The Blue team was finally eliminated from the tournament by NorthPaul D. Hopkins, D.D.S.Houston Gold. 20-0. The 2-?. record gave the Blue team fourth place In the tournament.The Friendswood Red .Ml Stars brought a perfect 3-0 record into the tournament fromexhibition play and the streak continued through the early tournament games as the Red team bested the South. Houston Texans, 15-10 and then followed with a 15-8 win over Deer Park.Josh Kirklin, Allen Doteral. Kyle Adams, Tim Mayfield. Thomas llpcscl and Justin Kieferset up a three game series with Dickinson for the championship, be Friendswood team won 17-6 in the opening game, Dickinson took the second game 15-13 to force a third and final game.In the title game the Friendswocd team took an early lead and then held off Dickinson to take a 15-9 victory and thechampionship.Shortstop Thomas Hoesel made one great defensive play and Sean Cory and Tim Mayfield teamed up for a solid defensive effort that
