Carter squeezes outwin in All-Star raceMIDDLETOWNRags Carter nicked time perfectly Wednesday night as he won the fourth All-Star 100-lap feature at Orange County Fair Speedway.The Fleetwood. N.J. driver, running as an independent, ran out of gas just as he crossed the finish line and was unable to make it to the pits under his own power. A few second later, the sky emptied torrential ran1 dcvn on the Speedway.f ini ;hing behind Carter was Orange County’s Will Cagle.Lou lazzaro, representing Catamout (Vt.) Speedway, jumped off to an early ead and stayed on top for the first 26 laps. Then, Carter zipped by him o. the 27th and took a lead he never gave up.O d' three caution flags were shown as the veteran drivers battled for the U p prize of $1,000 and to gain points for their teams in the All-Star League.All U teams in the league were represented.Char lie Jarzombek drew the pole position, with Lazzaro taking the No.2 spot. Carter was in the fifth starting spot.The heats were won by Ai i asnady. Jackie Evans and EddieMann. Butch Wood was the consolation winner.Lazzai j finished third behind Carter and Cagle.
