Patriotic Program Presented By Middleport Philathea ClassMIDDLEPORT - A patrioticprogram highlighted the July meeting of the Philathea Class of the Middleport Church of Christ held Thursday at the church. The program was presented by Mrs. Lena McKinlev and included an arti-cle by Margaret Trout. Our Star Spangled Banner”.The program pointed out that the national anthem concerned the first flag to be subject of anational anthem. The groupsang the number at the close ofthe program.Mrs. George Childs read the scripture and Mrs. McKinley led the prayer. Reported iilwere Dale Swift. Hattie Swift. Leslie Ervin, Barry Stewart, Mabel Hvsell, Harrv McGuffin,Mr and Mrs. Ravmond Blosser* •and Alice Fink.A note of thanks was read from the Manley and Long wedding reception families, also from Mr. and Mrs. Lelie Ervinand Mr. and Mrs. Wavne Clark.wThe committee for the annual picnic included Mrs. George Meinhart, Mrs. Betty Cline, and Mrs. Edgar Allensworth. The picnic was scheduled for Aug. 10 at 6 p.m at Forest Acres Park near Rutland.Refreshments were served bv Mrs. Pearl Revnolds, Mrs.V:Nina Bland. Mrs. Lena McKinley, with Mrs. Lena Wolfe and Mrs. Mabel W'alburn contributing.
