Getting hits in the sixth were Gene White, Barry Gorton and John Wolf, Wolf also shared hitting honors for the winners with Kelly McDaniel, each with two hits. Jeff Burik and Bill Roberts each had two hits to pace the Cardinals. The winning pitcher was Roger Bachelor, while the loss was charged to Scott Savage.In the second game the Cubs scored nine runs iri the second inning on only three hits and went on to defeat the Dodgers, 14-2. The hits in the inning were three straight singles by Jon Schoonover, Jon Moore and Tony Stark, Kevin Spencer collected hitting honors for the game with two hits in four times at bat. The winning pitcher was Kenny Miller and the loss was charged to George Ambler.
