NBA’s Spoelstra honored for looking after othersSPRINGFIELD, Mass. Zelda Spoelstra is being honored by the Basketball Hall of Fame for looking alter the interests of retired NBA players.Spoelstra began her career in 1951 as administrative assistant to the NBA’s first president, Maurice Podoloff, and now holds the title of senior associate director of alumni relations. She will receive the 112nd annual John Bunn Award for outstanding lifetime achievement in basketball at the enshrinement ceremonies in September.“Zelda’s contribution to basketball epitomizes the true mean ing of the Bunn Award, Hall of Fame president John Doleva said Wednesday.
