As a result the Norwich team continues to lead the Empire State League.Veteran John Stewart led off the ninth with a single and advanced to second on a passed ball by the Homer catcher. Dave Petley drove him in with a base hit and then an error let Petley reach third. Pitcher Bill Bradt scored him with a sacrifice fly to clinch the victory.The Braves threw an early scare into the Merchants by scoring four runs in the first three in nings before the Norwich bats came alive.Archie Reid started tilings off for Homer in the second with a lead off single and Carl Coye followed with a base hit to put men on first and third. A triple by Don Cook drove them home and he scored the third run on an outfield fly. A single by Bill Robinson, a Norwich error and a sacrifice fly put Homer four runs ahead at the end of the third.Norwich fought back in the 1 fourth as Catcher Dave O’Neil 1 stroked a single and moved to J second on an error.
