There isn't any relief in sight.Just some more of this blistering,scorching, roasting,. shading, etc^, .weatjhar i*a«' forecast for the' state'■ The mercury 1Wuld reach heat the edotury mark over the state this afternoon, wouldn't go down enough tonight to make sleeping comfortable and would rise again tomorrow to near 100 in the west and south and at 05 in the ofcot, the meteorologist said. -Skies were clear over Kansas and surrounding states, so no rain wad In sight.Along with the middle west, Kansas was boiling hot yesterday. The mercury was above 100 over all of western Kansas and between OS and 100 elsewhere. Officially the highest mark was 102 at several points. Last night's low was 84 at Goodland with eastern Kansas no cooler than 75 to 80.• Kansas* high mark for the day was the highest reported In the nation.Eastern Kansas crops were standing the weather all right, Meteorologist Flora said, but corn In the west was beginning to need moisture and might be damaged if rain were not forthcoming shortly.
