Hot On Trail OfElkhart BanditsTrio Which Robbed Bank of $ 1,500 Believed Headed into Oklahoma—--One Robber I* Wounded.■AIRPLANES ARE IN CHASEPosses from Four States Trail Men in Green Coupe—Pick Up Numerous Clues.Lamar, Colo., July 15 {/Fy-~Posses from four states today apparently were hot upon the trail of three men who robbed the Elkhart, JCan., bank of $1,500 yesterday.Organized In several separata groups, SO officers and volunteers were moving soutward through the dry, rugged district of the Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado boundary country In the belief that their quarry was heading into Oklahoma.Numerous-clues spurred, the rr.an-bunters on their search, sheriffWalter Ford of Elkhart, who is directing the drive telephoned from Gklarado, Colo,, that three men in 1 a green coupe had been at the farm-! house a short time previously. They : dressed a wound one one of their trio, obtained water and drove on, ignoring the farmer who lives oft the ranch.Earlier a green coupe answering the description of one used in the Elkhart robbery was seen at Midway, on the Kansas-Colorado line. It held three tnen, according to a. filling station proprietor, who also said one of them was wounded. Near Midway farmer^ reported finding bloodstains along the highway, together with a number of one dollar bills.Two airplanes, one from Boise City, Okla., and another .from Elkhart, Kansas, were aiding in tho search. Officers and volunteers from Colorado. New Mexico, Kansas and Oklahoma were included in the posse. Springfield. Colo., near the Colorado-Kansas line was nearly deserted as every available man. answered the request of Sheriff Ford for assistance in the hunt. The trio who robbed the Elkhart bank shot J. N, Klvell, a customer who was slow in raising bis hands at their command. Kivcll suffered a scalp wound and, in falling to the floor, broke his leg.
