Tournament for AmateurBaseball Teams SlatedWichita, July 15. — Thirty-twa teams will bo entered in Iho Kansas state Invitation baseball tourna* merit, for amateur end scml-pra clubs, which will be held in Wichita at Island Park, August 7, 8, 9, 16, This is the first tournament of lta kind ever held in the Btate, according to the reports, and the winne* will be recognized as the stats champion.The tournament Is open to all baseball clubs of Kansas, barring, of course, organized professional teams. Eight ch)b3 wtll finish in the running for the purse, which will be prorated as to what position each club finishes.This meet Is being sponsored by the athletic department af the Goldsmith Book and Stationery Co., of Wichita, in the Interests of baso-ball. The tournament, which will be an annual affair in the future, is expected to create much interest in amateur baseball,Raymond Dumont will be direo-tor-in-chlef of the tournament and all inquiries may be directed to him at Goldsmith’s.
