July 15.-lver Lawson and Paddy Hehir divided honors in thv two blK professional events of I a si night's bicycle card. Lawson defeated the Australian in their match ruct*. tandem-pueed, while Hehir Won tho !lve-milo open after agrand “pu*r from Peter Urobach.The big event for the evening was the match nice between Lawson and lletair. The former was paced by Wright and Defenbuclier, while Anderson and Halstead did the honors for Hehir. The three heats were at one mile. Lawson had the pole in the first, and although Anderson and Halstead tried twice to bring Hehir up Lawson's pace-makers shook them er.Ch time and Lawson won easily.Hehir drew the pole In the second hant, and Lawson’s pacemakers were unable to get around, so at a three-quarters of a lap to go Lawson grabbed Hohtr's wheel but was unable to make up the distance. Hehir winning.Hehir again drew the pole In tho third heat, but Lawson's pacemakers surprised the crowd by going around as if ')helr opponent* were tied. At n lap and a third t«» go Hehir took Lawson’s wheel but the Swede won handily by thyee lengths.The.five-mile open was a hard one.
