Bouts ! had been held in Turner Hall prior j to last night’s program.Dempsey slugged it out with Bull Montana, a member of the tag team, to preserve order in thei ring which became a “madhouse | of muscles” near the finish of the feature attraction. It was the Man-assa Mauler’s only appearance in | Wisconsin this year.! The former champ arrived in i Monroe Sunday after acting as ref-' eree for a grappling program in ! Danville, 111., Saturday night. He i was available to sign autographs for children and adults alike following last night’s card. \Billy Goelz, Illinois lightheavy-1I weight champion, and The Great j Balbo, Wisconsin light heavyweight i champion, were victors in the tag match by taking two out of three j falls from Tor Yamato, judo expertI from Japan, and Bull Montana, i wrestler from Braintree, Mass.I Montana took the first fall, fol-1 lowed with a pin each by Balboand Goelz.The opening bout pitted Rocky Columbo, Bronx, N. Y., against Milt Olson from Racine. Rocky j took the match in a clean fight with two out of three falls. Columbo appeared as a substitute for!
