Their lonp: beards attract, a crowd within a few minutes in a street that was deserted a few minutes before,.*. -That’s the way of New York.The grand midnight scene of all New York is from Central Park, looking downtown at that Plaza and GDth Street skyline.Buildings jut upward like Christmas calendar cutouts. JRibbons of lights advertise automobiles and rubber products. Other lights softly glow against the towers. There Is the Sherry-Ncthorland, which once burned so high in the sky that firemen could not reach the flame with their hose.There is the New York Athletic Club, which bas;its swimming pool on the seventh floor. It-was necessary to install special shock absorbers beneath the pool to take up the weight of such a heavy object so high.I hope'you get the idea, it was all explained to me, the why. and wherefore, and frankly I didn’t understand completely. One gels all mixed up.
