Va., about his heroics with the New York Black Yankees and other teams because everybody would say, ‘Well, there's just anotherpopoff.t * *But Clint “The Hawk Thomas finally had his day Wednesday in Greenup, Ky., where he grew up and relatives still live. Fellow greats from the Negro leagues and players like Ernie Banks and Monte Irvin who played after major-league baseball's color barrier was broken gathered to honor Thomas.
