Norwich Shoe Upsets GLA Wehrlis Drops ResearchThe Chenango Valley Softball League has finally found a team in undisputed possession of first place. Wehrli’s, who beat the Research 12 to 9, gained the top rung as the Norwich Shoe Company upset the GLA 10 to C.Wehrli’s led by Skip Seiler, who had a home run that was hit deep to right field was in control of the loosely played game all the way to take the league lead over the GLA.Dave Petley was one of the leading hitters for the Research and also played a fine game in the outfield.The Norwich Shoe Company bounced the GLA out of its shareNYS Harnessof first place on the strength of clutch hitting of winning pitcher Sal Mirabito and C. Crosby’s three hits.
