In Moorhead League Park; Crook -ston Fans Expected.By DICK HACKENBERGJust two weeks ago tomorrow a little incident occurred at Crook-ston that not only irritated one Chester Brewer, colored hurler for the Crooks ton Red Sox and former pitcher for the Kansas City Monarchs at the time that Negrooutfit was the “dark horse” in the running for the Negro baseball championship of the world, but also ruffled his temper to no small degree.That blistering Sunday afternoon, the great Chet Brewer, whose hurling is rated among the superior variety by baseball followers and critics alike, mowed down the Far-go-Moorhead Twins with machinelike precision while his team piled up a commanding lead.Eke Out WinThen the Twins, already hot beneath the scorching sun, got hotter, and when the game was over the local representatives had eked out a 5 to 4 decision by some classy playing in the final two innings, much to Mr. Brewer’s disappointment and disgust.Tomorrow the Crookston Red Sox, led by Chet Brewer with a scowl on his dusky face, will take the field against the Twins in the Moorhead league park at 3 p. m. with nothing else uppermost in their minds other than sweet revenge.Anderson AgainIt was Harold Anderson who pitched winning ball for the Twins against Brewer, and just to make things tough for the elongated Negro again tomorrow, Manager Luke Mohcr will send Anderson against the Crookston mound ace again. George Lee, former Concordia college star, now playing manager of the Crookstonians, is confident that his troupe can invade the scene of his collegiate triumphs and even things up with the Twins.Crookston’s Red Sox have been in the habit of trouncing alll opposition in the immediate vicinity of the Red River Valley and other pointa, save for the invasion of Alexander's House of David boys, and that defeat at the hands of the Twins has caused some little rumpus among Crookston fans. Basing their hopes on Brewer's chagrrin and Lee's promises, a large delegation will accompany the team here tomorrow to get the lowdown on what may develop into a baseball feud between the two cities.
