We 'regret to do it, but as a matter of news, nothing else, iwe are obliged to note that a very moderate and unassuming team by the name of Sprudels came over to Washington from West Baden for the three 3eries game of the Fouirth of July and just absolutely cleaned up the earth with the Washingtonians. Too bad, for according /to the Washington papers, Hicks, Sharon, Sisson,and a few hundred othera the stunt could not be “did.” But it was did and did right. The dusky iboys had to pflay against the ginger of a winning team, Sisson, public opinion, Laws, a bad diamond, Rodarmel and -the /record of a -riot winning town. But they /buckled up courage and taught the /boys of Hicksville a few fching3 that they had never thoughtabout. Why, those darkeys playedwith the Sisson lads like a setter pup with an angle worm. They hit the ball when they wanted to and when they were tired they rested and then hit it some more. Theygave Washington a touch of the sweets of victory in the last game iby lowing themselves to get out in the gentlest way up until the last inning and then, Oh, how easily they got all they wanted.
