r.Boquets for Stovall.They are throwing bushels of bouquets at Stovall down in Cleveland and the following comments on his work, from the Plaindealer of that city will please Stovall’s Burlington friends: Aside from the pitching the feature of the game was the star work of Stovall at the initial sack. To tell the truth, first base was never played any better than this youngster from the Hawkeye state played it yesterday. Not only was he death upon foul balls and hot grounders, but he aided the other infielders by reaching half way across the diamond to take their throws, which were far from being perfect. In fact, Lajoie and Bradley's throwing to first was not of the best and “Burlington George” had to use his head continually to save them errors. But one ball got away from him and that was in consequence of Hickman throwing him a raise ball. From the moment the ball left Hick’s hand till it got to Stovall it kept rising, but Stovall did not think it necessary to jump for it. Consequently it struck his hands and bounded to the pavilion, or rather to Abbott, who was playing the game by backing up.Stovall’s single in the tirst inning practically won the game. * Burlington George” made another drive for a base in the third inning and nearly nulledoff a double in the fifth. Seeing that he was hitting to left field Barrett moved over into left center and Stovall surprised him by hitting to center.Barrett had to sprint his fastest and just managed to pull the ball down.It was a wise move that Armour made when ho moved Stovall up in the batting order, as it was Stovall’s hit that won the game.One of the greatest running catches
