Instead, the top four teams in Group B will be promoted to the elite division.These 12 teams will compete at the worldchampionships in Czechoslovakia in 1992 despite the fact that ‘92 is an Olympic year. Normally, the Olympic champion has been considered the world champion, but the IIHF recently decided to hold separate world and Olympic championships.West German president Dr. Gunther Sabetzki was re-elected to another term, as was Canadian vice-president Gordie Renwick of Cambridge.
