Coon Valley got nine runs and II hits off starter Ankney.This opening game proved to be in sharp contrast to the nightcap game involving Grove and Cashton. It was a hitting battle.Each Coon Valley batter had at least one hit and no batter was fanned by Ankney, West Salem's fast-balling strikeout artist, or Groth who pitched the last three innings.Coon Valley took a 1-0 first inning lead.
