After having several bouts in that city Furey made up his mind to go east. He soon picked up a few matches around Gotham, and showed himself to bo a very clever lad.There was nothing critical alout Furey s make up, and he went up against any one the eastern club managers saw* lit to match him with, and it is quite likely now* that he will soon be put on with Jack Downey, the Brooklyn featherweight who came so near lowering the colors of Champion George Dixon. Furey s best contest in Cincinnati was with Stigarfoot Dee Hill at the Olympic club, over whom he gained the decision in eight rounds. Furey has won several other local victories.
