Jeff Schoch was the pitcher for Rotary in that contest, while Robbie Geist and Ned Moore pitched for the Lions.Dan Meyers for Rotary and Mark Gates for the Lions cannot pitch in Thursday's showdown as they have each pitched the seven innings this week which are allowed by Babe Ruth rules.Several observers feel Schoch and R. Geist will be the starting pitchers for this championship game. A look at these two players pitching records might be interesting.Geist has a 4-1 record this season. The 14-year-old has worked 31 innings and allowed 17 runs. During that period, he has allowed 15 hits, 26 walks and recorded 25 strikeouts.Schoch has a 4-0 record for Rotary. He has worked 27 innings on the mound and allowed five runs. The 15-year-old pitcher has allowed seven hits, 23 walks and has 40 strikeouts.,,,Qne of 'these two teams will , winjthe ?league, championship, . but coach Paul Moore of-the' Lions and coach Darwin Waldy of the Rotary should both be very proud of the way their teams have played this year.Only one other thing needs to be said. In sports of any kind, and especially in kid baseball, statistics in a game of this magnitude can be forgotten. The winner will not be decided by these statistics, but rather the winner will be decided on the field,Why not pick a winner and then come out to Orlis Cox Field to see if your team wins the Ottawa Babe Ruth League championship for 1976,
