Eliminators Move Into 1stPlace In Men's SoftballA double win by the Eliminators, together with another loss by Formold Plastics, moved the Eliminators into first place after the close of Sunday’s action in the Blue Island Park District’s Men’s Softball League.The Eliminators won their first game of the day, the Craftsmen were forced to forfeit as only eight of their players came out. In a rescheduled game, the new league leaders tallied seven runs in the first inning, and then held Trackside Inn at bay to register a 12-10 win. The victory, the eighth in ten contests, enabled the winners to take undisputed possession of the league lead as Formold Plastics went down to athird straight loss. The Marauders scored five runs in the thirdto take the lead in their game and Formold could not catchup.An earlier contest on Sunday, saw Trackside and the Unknowns go down to the wire in a wild game. Trackside used three pitchers in the final inning and finally won by an 18-17 score.Only one game was played on Thursday. The Roy Crist Unknowns bombed Rose’s Tavern, 17-3. This win was the sixth for the Unknowns and kept them in third place.On Saturday, another rescheduled game found Rose’s come back to beat Clark Oil, 14-6.
