CAHA, JuniorsMeet SundayThe Canadian Amateur Hockey Association does not officially recognize the Canadian Hockey Association, but you can bet . the CAHA is concerned with the activities of the upstart outlaws., Proof of this came Thursday when Gordon Juckes, executive director of the amateur association, released information of meetings to be held in the three prairie provinces between theCAHA and all junior .“A»hockey clubs on the prairies. The press release reads, “The regional meetings will give all concerned an opportunity todiscuss together prairie junior hockey plans for the coming season, and to obtain information with regard to the caha’sdevelopment program.”Singling out Manitoba, the meeting will benefit the Manitoba and Central Manitoba [junior hockey leagues in the i explanation of the development fund, but the discussion of “prairie junior hockey plans” will mean little to the established leagues. The real purpose of the meetings seems to be to see how far the outlaw teams from the Western Canada Junior Hockey League Association, are willing to go in their break with the amateur czars.Three Manitoba junior “a” clubs, Winnipeg Jets, Brandon Wheat Kings and Flin Flon Bombers, are currently- hand in hand with the outlaws and.none of them has given any' indication of attending the Manitoba meeting. The first session will' be held in Calgary today with Alberta junior teams.
