Chief BenderMt. Carmel, Pa., July 1 (AP)— Charles Albert (Chief) Bender, one-time pitching ace of the Athletics, now playing with the House of David nine, was injured in a game with Mount Carmel last night and will be out for about two weeks. A bat slipped from a teammate’s hand and struck Bender on the left thigh.Notice—Chief Bender will be in action with the House of David team when they play the Canton Pirates the night of Aug. 6.
