The Aces turned back Williamstown 8-1 in a rescheduled postponement Saturday morning and blanked South Berkshire 4-0 yesterday.Coach Bud Pellerin's club will be in action again tonight at 6 against Pittsfield Post 68 in another reslated rainout. The contest will be played at Deming Field instead of Clapp Park, the usual home field for the local teams. The change was made because of a Babe Ruth all-star game at Clapp Park.The Aces received route-going performances from pitchersDave Jensen Saturday and Jack MacDonald yesterday. Jensen fired an eight-hitter against Wil-1 i a m s t o w n and MacDonald threw a three-hitter against South Berkshire.Both Tyler Aces hurlers had to beat strong opponents. Williamstown righthander Kevin Brundage gave up just five hits and South Berkshire right-hander Tom Teggi allowed only eight. The home forces had only four hits and a 1-0 lead off Teggi going into the last of the sixth inning.Wilker Bat StarOutfielder Gary Wilker was the batting star yesterday. Dave Matteodo and Rick Lisi opened the inning with walks. Pete Ber-tocci bunted but Brundage’s throw to third for the force was late and the bases were loaded. Craig Brothers walked to force in one run. Jensen missed asqueeze signal and insteadripped a ground single to right to score Lisi and Bertocci and send Brothers to third. Jensen got hung up in a run-down after being caught off first but escaped winding up on third whenhit by a throw and Brothers came home. Dave Bowerman rapped his second single of the game to score Jensen to make it 6-0. The aces had scored in the first on Bowerman’s base hit, his thefts of second and third and a throwing error on the steal of third.MacDonald drove in two runs against South Berkshire to help ihis cause. Bowerman opened the home team’s sixth with an infield out but was caught stealing. Denny Duquette and Dan Caritey followed with base hits and Wilker came through with his RBI single. With Caritey onthird and Wilker on second Matteodo was given an intentional walk. MacDonald grounded to third and Matteodo was forced at second but on the double-play try Caritey came in from third and Wilker hustled all the way from second.Leading HittersDuquette and Caritey had twohits apiece yesterday in addition to Wilker. Lisi rapped a double but was out trying to stretch it to three bases. Bowerman was the only one of the Aces with more than one hit Saturday.Jim Dezieck, Dave Kay and Jack Wheeler had the three South Berkshire hits, all singles. George Galli had three singles in three trips to the plate for Williamstown and Brundage was two for three. He drove in the Williamstown tally.The Aces have new uniforms this year.
