Chiefs, replacing embattled Gene VerbJc.Verblo, who survived a player-revolt a month ago, said in resigning Saturday that a “change might he best.” Cal Griffith, owner of the Minnesota Twins, of the American League said Verble would remain within the Twins’ organization.Syracuse is a Twins' farm club.Vcrblcs also resigned last month when former major league pitcher Hob Porterfiekl attempted to take over the club in a dispute over travel expenses. Porerfield was fired and VerWe’s resignation was refused,Verdi, 35, had been utility in-fielder and coach this year. He broke into organized baseball with the New York Yankee organization and had played in the Inter-national league since 4053.
