* BIG JOHN SIMON was the] ‘biggest one* as he hurled and ba.t-j Led Buss Slavin's Eldrnl All-! Stars to a 3-1 win over the local ! Simon Purcs Friday on Furness Field.Simon permitted the Olcan club but three blows and chimed in with two of the five binglcs George Price allowed. All the way it was Simon’s airtight flinging that completely throttled the Purcs offensive.Both Price and Simon wiped away the hitters in onc-two-thrce order the first three innings. Each tallied single runs in the fourth. The sixth was the big one lor the Shivin crew as successive blows by Tom SUivin and Miklos tallied runners for second base. ’The triumph marked Eldred's fifth straight of the current season. The game marked the Purcs first non-league venture for them.
