“I WONDER tF THEY'LL LET ME BAT — That seems a likely thought on Emmetsburg baseball coach Tom Goodman's mind as he clutches a bat and ponders howto stop the 20-3 win by Storm Lake Saturday aflernoon, a game in which the E'Hawks star left fielder. Rich Stillman, was injured. Two days before, starting first baseman Tom Fogarty had two fingers on his left hand crushed by a 175-pound block of cement while working at his summer job. Maybe Goodman should have been allowed to hit; he was an outstanding batsman for Fort Dodge high school and later Iowa State's Cyclones under recently-retired veteran coach Cap Timm.
