Rod Fuller Pitches No-Hitter FridayA large crowd watched Rod Puller pitch a no-hit game against Aplington Friday evening and saw the Aekley-Geneva High School team finally squeak past their opponents to a 5-4 victory.Aplington led 4-0 until the 5th inning when Aekiey-Geneva scored one run. In the 6th A-G loaded the bases but failed to score. Then in the 7th Dave Diemer led off with a single, Terry Lawton followed with a triple and Rod Fuller with a double. Dennis Yohe hit a single to tie up the game, and with one out Dallas Harken’s single to left field scored the winning run.Fuller and Dennis Yohe were the battery, with Ayers and Cuvil-ier pitching and Miller catching for Aplington.Thursday, July 2 — Steamboat Rock H.S. at Ackley.Monday, July 6 — Eldora H.S. at Ackley.Wednesday i July 8 — (sec. tournament) 8 p.m. Steamboat vs. Ackley.
