Burds earned ,a technical knockout over the Em-metsburger when Fordyce was unable to respond to the bell at the start of the fifth round. Burds hod pounded him solidly In the fourth round and at the close had sent two smashing blows to the head that left the Emmetsburger In a bad way. He probably would Xxave toppled had not the bell given him a chance to get to his stool.Two of the arena favorites, Don Olson and Fred Kreutzkampf, won their fights Monday by good margins. Olson, who has most of Arnolds Park rooting for him, defeated Pat Owens of Lake Park in four rounds. Kreutzkampf walked away with his fight with Hussell Johnson of Everly in four rounds.Francis Brady shaded Kid Mickey in four rounds. Brady is a product of Emmetsburg and Mickey hangs his hat in Milford.Tommy Jackson of Emmetsburg and Heinie “Young’' Ahrens of Es-therville battled four furious rounds to a draw in their event.
