It is a powerful organization and almost every cyclist of national importance is connectedwith it.The meet to be held in Frederick on the days above mentioned is the annual three days outing of the MarylandDivision of the L. A. W., and indications, if any dependence can be placed upon them, point to one of the most largely attended meetings in the history of the State. Both amateurs and professionals make up the personnel of the league, and of course, the former will greatlypredominate In nucobers, but thert*will be a liberal sprinkling oMhe lafter, of wholn will be noticed *beSimms brothers, Mudd and Ball, ofWashington, D. C.; Coale and French,of Baltimore, Md.; Thompson, Church and Dampman, Philadelphia, and Apple, of Chicago. Thompson, of Philadelphia, will try some paced exhibition miles for the track record, which so far has not been above 2 minutes and 8 seconds. It is said that Bail, of Washington, made a half-mile trial over the Athletic Park Track here a few days ago, in 1 minute and 2J seconds. For a new track, if the time is authentic, this is pretty fast going and compares with other well known bicycle tracks. The committee announces that every arrangement has been perfected for the accommodation of the crowds that will visit the city during the meet. Hotels and boarding houses are preparing for the influx of visitors, but there will be ample room for all. Rates are moderate aud no unfair advantage will be taken of any one, as is sometimes the ease in events of this kind. A committee has been appointed to look after the comfort and lodging of the wheelmeu. All particulars cau be learned by applying to the Executive Committee or the Secretary. Everything that lies in ttie power of the officials of the Bicycle Club has beeu done to insure perfection in arrangements and details aud perfect justify and satisfaction to all.The Athletic Grounds arc In perfect condition for the races on Saturday aud Monday. The track is in great shape aud the feueiug is completed. The electric lights have not beeu put iuyet, but will be ready by Saturday evening. Monday night an elaborate display of fireworks will be given as a fitting close to the meet, and at the same time celebrate the glorious Fourth, which unfortunately fell on Sunday this year. Considerable expense has beeu gone to by the club aud a wide variety of set pieces, rockets, candles, Greek fire aud bombs are on hand. The prizes, except iu the unprofessional classes, are in plate or medals aud certainly worthy of the most determined effort to secure them. Theyare on exhibition iu the window of Brish Bros, store, on Patrick street. The McDaunold Cup will arrive on Saturday. This will be contested for by organized cycle clubs aud the one winning it three times becomes its owner. In the team races between Frederick aud Hagerstown there is much interest attached. Our city will be represent, d by Mr. 4. Murray Brish, Chas. H. Young and Jacob Schmidt, whilst the honors for Hagerstown will be looked after by Harry Fultz, Henry Burger aud George Kemp. There is also much speculation as to who will be the most successful local rider iu the nice. There are several very speedy ones and their friends look for them to make a lively pace for even he fast ones. It will certainly be a W el sight for our people to witness, 'illy those who are only aceus-esp£*w observe the wheel as a vehi-tomea hrt and pleasure and areC/le of cu'miv m-eat speed that can be unaware oftnt ^ jt |g a thrillinggot ff111 out !,.!*« of ridel's iu cos-^ t to see a scoreunitecovets*h 1 wri £,g m* Tk •for lh?line at tlw flnta.oveifcv every nerve and miracle tostramIV . slightest advantage.
