Mike Sadek the winning pitcher also drove in four runs.He was relieved by John Niendorf after the third inning. Both were caught by Clark Wilk-erson. The Giants used 3 pitchers, Toby Roth, Steve Ruskin and Stan Comer in, their efforts to stem the tide, with Roth charged with the loss. Gary Glover was at the plate. Ruskin doubled and tripled for the Giants, but the Phillies hitting power was too much.Athletics, who are 1 Vi games behind. The National division clubs are in the same order as last week, with the Phillies leadingthe pack.There were two tie games this Week, both of which were completed on Friday. Wednesdaynight’s Giant - Ti-% gers, which ended in a 7 to 7 tie,finally ended up in a 11 to 9 victory for the Tigers. Rog Parsons hit a double in the last half of the seventh with two on to score the winning run. Bob Shaw pitched for the Tigers on Wednesday, and Fred Daub-enspeck on Friday to become the winning pitcher. Mike Coffey caught both nights. Forthe Dodgers, Reg Humphrey pitched on Wednesday, and Brad Styles on Friday to become theloser. Sherk caught both nights.The Yankees handed the Athletics one of ther few defeats on Saturday, 8 to 2. The excellent pitching of Scott Robertsonfor the Yanks, plus good support from his teammates at the plate and in the field, accounted for the win. Scott had eight strikeouts, which held the A’s in check, although they playedtheir usual heads up ball. Thelosing Athletics pitcher was Bob Trainor, backed up by Rich Bug-ner at the plate. Gary struck out nine and allowedstruck out ten and gave up four hits. Mike Lamb of New Orlenasgot two of the four hits.Little Rock ran away with their game with Chattanooga, 23 to 11. Little Rock got 16 hits off the pitching of Jack Jones.Paul Kent was the winning pitcher.JACKSONVILLE was defeatedby Birmingham, 16-10. The combined pitching efforts of George Davis, Robert Ross and JohnFoulkes could not stop the Birmingham attack. Davis takes tht loss and Ray Giuliana, in relief gets the credit for the win.Jim Rinella led the Augusta team Jo victory over Nashville with a home run and two singles, 14 to 5. Hill also hit a home run over the center field fence in the third, but this was rot enough. Winning pitcher Chuck Watts also showed good control on the mound, striking of the opposing Tigers to allow only five hits. Dave Mclntire caught for the Sox, and Bill Rabin for the Tigers.The Braves swamped the Dodgers 13 to 2 in their Saturday meeting. Dave Swink of the Braves contributed his share of hits, being two for three. In the field, Brave Dick Shindle made beautiful one handed shoe-•tring catch in right field in the fifth inning to help hold the Dodgers down.
