CINCINNATI CLUB. •ITS MISMANAGEMENT.CHARGES MADE AGAINST THE PRESIDENT,WHO IS INVITED TO STEP DO#KAND OUT.;1The Cincinnati Club Directors have at lastawakened to the fact that something more is neoes-sary to the snooess of a team than mere playing skill. This skill must be rendered permanent through harmonious management by a President possessed of a good degree of base ball intelligence; but should that individual, after a fair trial, develop glaring incapacity^ it is tiino to remove him as a step on which (the con tinnedexlstenoa of the organization depends. Business men who invest money to support theNational rame will not stand bv and see it Idlyfrittered away. They look for the exerolse of every reasonable economy. Apart from this, theman selected to fill the position of Presidentshould be a man discreet In conversation, and not apt to talk pnblioly ofplans made by the Directors until theyare fully matured or executed, and then only by the oonsent of his assooiates. Every Club has business matters within itself, pertaining exclusively to the ^oard of Directors and to no one else. £Outside disouseion would do the listeners no good I 1 and tbs organization an Immense deal of harm. This has occurred frequently since the season opened, and the Directors do not hesitate to charge President Thorner with considerable of the damage.Gentlemen representing a majority of the stook, unwilling to see any more of their investment uselessly expended, have at last adopted measures to bring about a chango in affairs, and to that end have prepared a list of oliarges, some ten or a dozen In number, against Mr. Thorner, and willpresent them to-night at the Board meeting. He was^ 1 ^ - ' fi -given an opportunity of resigning, and failing to do so. left his accusers no alternative but to give nubltoity to that which they would much havo preferred remaining secret.Summed up, the charges will comprise the following: Extravagance, acting In direct opposition to the expressed wishes of the Board, bywboin he was elected; causing pecuniary losses to the stockholders by reason of ill-advised contracts; general inefficiency, and making public the secrets of the club. These charges, if sustained, will result in the election of a geutleman of discretion and ability, at whose hands club business will be satisfactorily handled, and he will also be a man without favorites, and deal justly with every one.’A large majority of the stock is already pledged to the new course of aotion that promises so ‘much brighter a future for the club.Yesterday’s Gnme.
