Peterson being ; unable to be here, the -promoters of : the match hustled around 'and succeeded In landing Young Gotch as a worthy opponent of Jimmy Demetral. Gotch fought hard to win but being , .out of training and having much . superfluous weight on him was in no ■condition to do his best and there- ; fore was no match for his opponent, who waa in fine condition for the go. i Demetral threw him In twelve minutes and thirty seconds. This was the moat exciting bout, in that many holds were broken by either grappler, •until Demetral succeeded in getting ; the 'toehold on Gotch, who after ! lighting it for some time, was forced to give up.
