Malvern Scares First Double at HastingsHastings handed Malvern its first double win of the season Tuesday evening when the two. schools clashed in a pair of games ! in the Hastings Community building.In the girls set-to- the Oriolcttes ran ahead 39*30 at the intermission, then went on to a 79-66 margin. Coach Toni Y'incent put his taller forward, Carolyn Crouse, in the guard court but Ann Beckwith nonetheless netted 47 for Malvern. Roberta Schrucder had 17 andRosalie Turner 12 to make lip the bulk of the Malvern total.For Hastings Linda Good led scoring with 33 and Joyce Lindsey had 19. Coach Bill Beasley’s guards, Karen Itassclquist, Pam Bass and Kay Harshbarger, made an excellent showing in the game.In the boys game the Orioles j coasted to a 79-46 win, going from a 42-23 half-time advantage. Gee iiobinson sank 25 and Rod Guy 17 for Malvern and Dan Taylor’s 20 was top for Hastings.
