■CAUGHT PENN NAPPING.Yale Hockey Team Defeats the Quakers . . hy a Score of 4 to 1.* * t■ -Yale defeated University of Pennsylvania at the St. Nicholas rink last night in the third gapae of the collegiate hockey series. The result, 4 goals to 1, was something of a surprise, as. the Yale men were not supposed to possess the experience of their Philadelphia rivals, a. majority of whom were Canadians, and their victory, therefore, sends Yale stock bounding- upward. The Quakers tallied the first goal of the match and thereafter failed to score. Wallace of Penn-sylvcnia was the first man to shoot the puck between the posts, which he did after Agnew had carried the Tubber more than half the length of the rink. During the remainder of the half Yale’s defense was invincible and the blue not only prevented - Penn from scoring further, but managed to tally twice on its own account. The second goal by Brock, the crew man, was made ki a clean lift, 20 yards out from the goal. In'the second half, the play was considerably rougher and by no means so accurate as in the first. Yale successfully repelled all attacks on its goal and penetrated Penn’s defense twice in rapid succession. Stoddard scored one goal and Palmer the other. The line up follows:Yale. Position.
