90As the Heritage Conference basketball ason winds down, Penns Manor's Christina Sgriccia is firmly establishing herself as one of the area's premier post players and defenders.Sgriccia came up with a pair of clutch plays in last Tuesday's 57-54 upset victory over second-place Saltsburg. The 5-10 senior forward scored Penns Manor's only field goal of the fourth quarter, when she was fouled on the driving lay-up and completed the three-point play to give the Comets a four-point lead in the closing minuteWith her team clinging to a three pointlead in the final seconds, she helped to iceaway the victory by stealing the Trojans' inbound pass. She finished with 15 points in the win.Sgriccia followed up Tuesday s performance with a rare double-double in the 20's against Northern Cambria.In addition to hanging 21 points on the Colts, Sgriccia dominated in the paint, pulling down 20 rebounds — both game highs.
