Greenpaces southPurple, leafier of the North Division, and Green, the leader of the South Division of tin* Ivanhoe Park District Basketball league, gamed ground last week by winning two more games to increase their respective league leads,Purple pushed their record to seven straight without a defeat by crushing Blue 97-85and Red 90-73. Leading the route in scoring was Bob Kauffman’s 40 against Blue, followed by Scott Fletcher, 23, Dave Faulkner 18 and Rich Gromala 16.Against Red, Greg Rigoni chipped in 27, followed by Faulkner s 24, Kauffman 21 and Gromala 16.Blue was led by Mick DiSanto 24-points, Jeff Gatewood 17, Darren McKlroy 14, Joe Gergely’s 12 and Mike Malmuuist 11.Red’s, John King had 29 points, Fred Goebel 16, Bill Zawada 14 and Steve Gilfney 11, all in a losing cause.Green, meanwhile, disposed ot Gold 76-64 and Black 62 57 to push their record to 6-1 for the season, Jim Wilson’s 23 points set the pace for Green despite a 27-point effort by Gold Team Captain Roy Mueller,Captain Ed Osowski hit for 31 points for Green against Black or halt the team points while the losers once again led by the league leading scorer Jeff Forte who had 29Blue crushed Gold 92-77 on 22 points by DiSanto and 20more by McKlroy w hile Dale Kingma hit for 30 for the* losers. White hit for 108 points against Brown with Tom Clemens hitting for 36, followed by Ron Jones 27 andMike Jostes 22.John Shirritt had 21 for the losers who lost their fifth game in seven encounters.
