DAVENPORT, Jan. 24.—»AP) — Grover Cleveland Alexander, pitching hero of the 1927 world s series,has been signed by the House ofDavid baseball team for 1931, Ray Doan, business manager said today.Doan said Alexander will get the highest salary ever paid a semi-pro player. He said he toad tried for several months to obtain a contract with him.Alexander, in accepting informed him. Doan said, that he will try his best to keep in such condition that he will be able to return to the major leagues in which he has been an attraction for 15 years.
