RECREATION CENTERAT EVSTIS PARKNEARING COMPLETIONl \Grand Stand and Fence Finished. Athletic Field Now Being LaidOff.The Eustis Park Recreation Center is nearing completion and the athletic field and playground for smaller children should shortly be readv for use. * The athletic fieldwill be completed within the next ft w days, a baseball field fceing laid out at the present time. The field has been fenced and sodded and put lt;in otherwise fiifct-class condition. A grand stand including a number ot dressing rooms and showers has beenconstructed and when the project is finally completed Aiken will have a well equipped athletic center. A ; considerable area in Eustis Park »and surrounding the field and playground has been cleared of undergrowth and will be used for parking purposes. Roads and walks are also being built throughout the park.The project also includes two splendid tennis courts and a basket- j ball court both of which are in ex-i^client condition and being used at time.It is hoped to secure funds for playground equipment when the . Eustis Park project is finally completed. ]The work has been supervised for \ the past several weeks by B. F. j Etheredge, Chairman of the streetcommittee of city council and thefunds for the recreation development |were procured by the Aiken Cham- j ber of Commerce from the Civil Works Administration without costaat't the city of Aiken. t
