But Carmel, plagued by the cold field shooting that has been evident in some of the ‘Hounds recent games, was only able to establish a 15-5 lead by the end of the first quarter.Early Foul Trouble%Dick Storms and Earlin Carter, thof Yanks’ seeond and third highest scorers of the evening, ran into foul troubles early. Both of them were charged with three personals in the first quarter ,Miraculously, Jefferson township committed nary a foul in the sec-' ond quarter. Carmel, however, found its shooting eye and hanged, away for 18 points on field goals.- Carmel Coach Doyle Baliff started to use his second-stringers late in the second quarter, and the Yanks edgsd them in the third despite a four-fielder performance by 6-3 Omer Cornelius, a transfer from NobiesviUe who won a Miller letter last year.
