Hawks win in thriller. 96-95 JUCO Men's Basketball HAGERSTOWN — Sean Col son connected on a 17-foot jumper near the top of the key with four seconds left in overtime to give Hager stown Junior College a 96-95 victory over Allegany Com munity College in a Maryland JUCO Conference thriller Satur day night in Saturday. Colson’s winning shot erased the heroics of ACC freshman guard Mike Renfro who gave the Trojans a 95-94 lead with his sev enth three-pointer with nine sec onds left. The 6-2 sharpshooter from Indianapolis also sent the game into overtime with a three pointer with nine seconds left in regulation play and finished with 25 points. The Trojans, who entered the game ranked sixth in the nation, are now 17-2 overall and 7-1 in the conference. Hagerstown lifts its record to 13-3 overall and 4-0 in Maryland JUCO. “It was a great game and I can’t say enough about the way our guys battled and had a chance to win,” said ACC coach Bob Kirk. “We didn’t shoot that well but we had big defensive plays and rebounds. This is a pride game and a game for a little bit of brag ging rights and nothing more than that. We get to play them two more times.” Devin Baker was held scoreless in the first half, but came on strong after the intermission to score 23 points. The 6-8 sopho more center made nine of 10 foul shots and scored two big buckets in the overtime. Colson’s winning basket gave him 17 points after only scoring six in the first half.
