Three members of the Benedictine College men's soccer team have been named NAIA All-American Scholar Athletes.They are juniors John Be/.dek, Joe Cernich and Shawn McKelvy.Cernich, St. Louis, was one of the top defenders in NAIA soccer last season, earning first team All-HAAC (Heart of America Athletic Conference) and honorable mention All-American honors.He has compiled a grade point average of 3.78 and is majoring in ehemisty and biology.Bezdck, a native of Lakewood, Colo., was the Ravens' leading scorer. He was one of the top scorers in the history of soccer atBendictinc.He has earned a 3.69 grade point average in social science.McKelcy, O'Fallon, III., was a midfielder for BC. He has earned a3.57 grade point average in business administration.Obviously, we're very proud of these young men, Head Coach John Casey said. It takes a special degree of commitment to excel the way they have as players and as students.Casey was named HA AC Coach of the Year for 1994.
