ColonelsdefeatBy Nick BarnardThe return of Becky Chewning, Corrina Alvidrez and Decdra Cobb put the pieces back in place for a 34-12 victory over the Cubs Friday in Wasco.This was the fust time coaches Rod Creekbaum and Ken Allen had all of their players healthy for a game since Christmas vacation when Alvidrez was injured.With 3:37 remaining in the fust period, Chewning and Alvidrez entered the game.With Amber Anderson, Karina Ochoa, Beth Zachary, Lisa Ortiz and Kristen Fanner, Shafter put together a 15-2 run to lead 20-4 by the half.Coach Creekbaum was pleased with more offensive output in one half than he had seen in some of the team's final scores.Creekbaum was quick to point out, however, that the second half still remained.With 4:43 to go in the third, Anderson assisted Chewning for a basketWasco moved down the court and scored.Every basket Shafter had made since the half, was answered by Wasco until :20 remained in the third when Ortiz grabbed an offensive rebound then scored.From there, the Colonels controlled the rest of the game.Ortiz led with 8 points and 11 rebounds, Zachary had 6 points,Chewning had 6 and Anderson 4.LADIES on ioa/4\
